Giga Chikadze leaves Cub Swanson in the dust at UFC Vegas 25
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the UFC Apex once again tonight, May 1, 2021, as UFC Vegas 25 gets underway on ESPN 2 and ESPN+.
Headlining the event comes an incredible light-heavyweight showdown between top five talents Dominick Reyes and Jiri Prochazka. This is such a great match up for so many reasons.
Many people look at Reyes as a one-time UFC light-heavyweight champion, considering more people scored his title shot against Jon Jones for him than Jones, and Prochazka is a two-time Rizin light-heavyweight champion.
Not to mention, they’re both knockout artists. Reyes comes into the fight ranked at No. 3 while coming off two defeats, the first and second of his young career. Prochazka on the other hand is coming in on an 11-fight win streak.
Co-headlining the event comes a featherweight bout between former 38-6 professional kickboxer Giga Chikadze, who looks to make it six-straight inside the octagon against the most experienced featherweight on the roster, Cub Swanson.
This is of course the bout we’ll be recapping in this piece.
Chikadze just picked up his first promotional finish in his last bout, where he walked away the victor via TKO (head kick) in round one, while Swanson just ended a four-fight losing skid back in October of 2019 where he defeated Kron Gracie via unanimous decision, before following it up with a vintage KO victory over Daniel Pineda in December.

Official Result: Giga Chikadze def. Cub Swanson via TKO (body kick) at 1:03 of round one
Both come out light on their feet looking to get their offense going.
Swanson came in and landed a nice punch, while Chikadze moved out of the way beautifully and countered with a nice combo of his own. Chikadze then threw a series of kicks, ending with a round kick to the body.
Swanson stumbled backwards, folded over, ate a few punches, and that was all she wrote. Giga Chikadze picks up his second-straight octagon finish, and he’s now 6-0 inside the UFC, 13-2 as a professional.
