Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship star and UFC alumni Jason “The Kid” Knight returned to the cage Saturday, August 31st, for an exhibition kickboxing match to benefit battered women’s shelters along the Gulf Coast. Knight took on Port City MMA’s Mike Barnett in a short-notice matchup for Empire Fighting Championship’s Ladies of War, from Biloxi, Mississippi.
Originally, the fight card was to feature an all-female lineup of mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu jitsu and combat jiu jitsu matches, however due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian, several fighters from Florida and along the East Coast had to pull out, putting the entire event in jeopardy.
Knight, who’s from southern Mississippi, volunteered to make an appearance at the event to help accentuate the fight card and to help raise as much money as possible for their cause.
